daz2905
I buy a lot of gadgets and spend quite a bit of time browsing Chinese retail websites. My main 2 are DHgate and Fastech. Both good sites and delivery can be anything from 7 to 20 days depending on stock.I used to use ioffers quite a bit but then it seemedto fill up with scammers. What Chinese sites do you use and how reliable are they?
techmob
I take it you avoid custom charges etc?
daz2905
Yes, both of those send as low value and mark as a gift. So far i've been lucky and not had any charges.
Crashuk
I use Ebay to buy only. Most stuff I buy ends up coming from hong kong/China as they seem cheapest. Do get get better deals going direct?
mobisat
I use Aliexpress.com for loads of stuff but you need to your your prices here first as not everything is dirt cheap
trueblue924
i use aliexpress price isnt as low as dh gate etc but you get the protection the site offers and a few times they have picked up on scams and refunded before i even realised it was a scam lol never had a problem with charges and they allways mark as gift and a low cost etc
dibberly
I also use aliexpress and had no problems at all. Used Tiny deal which was ok unless you have a problem and the brother in law uses gearbest. As far as I know he's had no problems with them either
daz2905
Dhgate are good, they don't release the money until the goods have arrived and notify you on every stage of delivery including customs clearance. Then when you have the goods they email you to ask to confirm delivery before they pay the seller because they hold the money in escrow. So far i've had no problems and i'm probably 20 or so deals in. Sometimes ebay can be as cheap but it's good to be able to browse and have more choice. Also it's worth doing a couple of extra searches to find the seller who's cheapest and to make sure you get the quickest delivery available. dontknowwho
Regarding Wish i use them all the time too but through their other app "geek" The way there system works you could theoretically get a refund on most small items as the are not tracked and you get a notification after a certain amount of days asking if you have received the order, I am told if you press no you get an automatic refund. So my mates brothers uncles cousin says ;-p

mik
Maybe off topic but I'm sure I got an email from udemy the other day about a course regarding importing from chinese websites. Be decent if youre after making a few quid on a few things, pretty sure a torrent will be kicking about somewhere Edit. So I did https://www.udemy.com/import-from-alibaba/

daz2905
With free delivery on anything i tend to split my orders up. Once i get shipping confirmation i just put in the next order. I've only ever had one thing pulled up and that was a canon camera bought from honk kong via ebay. It was delivered and about a week later i got a £40 customs demand from DHL. I just ignored the letter, got another one, blanked that too and never heard from them again.
Hippie
Another Fasttech shopper here Been lucky with the import duties so far as it feels kind of counter intuitive to me buying lots of small orders rather than buying 1 big order like I would with UK suppliers, to save on postage. Whoswho
I tried alibaba for a few android boxes, luckily for me I paid through alibaba which turned out to be aliexpress,I never received any goods and when I checked on line the order had been closed. I did however get my payment back a week and half later. The chinese wholesaler reckoned he didn't have enough time to process the order. I used to order from deal extreme quite a bit and never had a issue with them. Anyone else struggle with alibaba?
chizh
Aliexpress is 1st visit when I'm out for a gadget fix. DX and more recently, Banggood follow. Got a 3D printer off Aliexpress last year and got hit for customs on delivery. That's the one and only time I've had to pay charges in 3 years, and I was expecting it but the discount paid for the duty. Daughter swears by Wish.
