HackmanSlim
i;ve always been interested in finding embedded keys in software, apparently you have to do a certain degree of reverse engineering to accomplish this, if i take it slow and steady i reckon i could maybe make a small crack file, and maybe work out a few serials,i mean its probably quicker to go to a website which has a huge reporsitory of cracks and serials ( i think we all know which website i am on about but i better not mention any names hehe) if i think of anymore things then i will be sure to let you know Slim
Mr_Spark
Cool - how about if we could release the potential of hardware. An example would be to put a gate high on a sky box to allow it to record after it's been disconnected. Perhaps change the menu system a little so we can scan for other channels free view style. I am speaking out loud as we have to stay the right side of the thin line to illegal .....
HackmanSlim
ahhhh yes of course, it always slips my mind of being on the legal side of the fence, as for your idea it sounds great!i think a lot of members of this forum would have a lot of fun with that i myself will have to take a backseat on that project as i have no access to sky because i live in a tower block, so i am stuck with cable tv i'll keep racking my brains for other projects we can do Slim hmmmm i made a post about ideas i can apply to a pine64 development board, what if we loaded some software on to it where we could all simultaneously do tutorials to understand the reverse a little more better and we could report back here on a specified thread, i reckon that could prove to be very addictive and would increase the fun factor in the community deciding what software we play with is the hard part, but i am sure if we knock heads together we can come up with something any other ideas peoples ? daz2905
I think the idea of modding hardware has a lot of appeal and i'd be really interested in taking part. Besides i own several sky hd boxes and it would be a great project to start and would be legal. I'm looking forward to seeing what you put in the section but i will definitely be taking part in at least one project if not several. A lot depends on time though, i'm relocating my business in April but i think i'll be able to find a bit of time to do something interesting and take a bit of timeout from work. We made a great start to this forum but after a while it started to stagnate and it would be nice to get an interesting forum section going. There are some good helpful people that post here all be it only occasionally and it would be a lot less intimidating place to learn new things than some other places i can think of. I'm definitely at student level and not teacher but if i have time and it looks within my capabilities then i'm in. Hopefully there'll be some chances to dust off the old soldering station. Utterchaos
Yea have to admit i love trying to get the most out of any hardware or software some lever of self satisfaction when you make it work the way you want or open up a bit that was closed before

Clownfish
Pine64 should boot using a phone charger. So hopefully all you need is a hdmi cable and micro SD card to get something started.
