Snuffs99
Was wondering what you guys are using as your wallet and if your using one on your PC or an online one etc? I 've not used bitcoin since it stated but back in the day so to speak it was a case of wallet on your PC but i notice everything has progressed a lot since then. Also where are you guys buying your Bitcoin from? i've had a gander and tbh i'm a tad lost as to where to start, ideally i'd like to buy say £200 worth of bitcoin and then start converting to various other coins of lower value etc and get trading. Any help would be appreciated. Re: Snuffs

Snuffs99
Set everything up with blockchain no worries and did the whoel security thing so phone setup etc etc etc.....but it wont let me buy any bitcoins, goes through the motions but rejects the payment without giving a reason, tried going direct through coinify but again just rejects the card payment ....maybe i need to ring bank and get them to allow it, don't want to keep trying as my card will get blocked. Fon
Snuffs, exactly the same for me, Been on the phone to the bank who say there is no block on the account, Maybe there having problems there end? Fon
HackmanSlim
it's your bank blocking the transactions, i know, coz i had the same trouble, however my bank rang me and alerted me to the transactions, to say i was pissed off, was an understatement, but i do understand what they are trying to achieve. So my best advice would be to give your bank and ring and say that your transactions are failing, they will probably say that they blocked them due anti fraud prevention. Fon
Hack, I called my bank, they unblocked the account, and sat on the phone with me whilst I was trying to purchase it. It still didnt go through! Fon
HackmanSlim
Hmmm very odd, well thats exhausted my support on the subject all i can think of is that the company has put a block on your account ?! but 9 times out of 10 it's usually the bank that's at fault . Sorry I can't offer any more support on this subject Slim
Fon
coinify emailed me to say I had passed the security clearance, so I can now transfer money via my bank, Still wont let me buy on a debit card though Fon

bob6600
Question...I opened a Coinify account few days ago and now decided to buy some BTC. When I go into Blockchain it says will open new account and won't let me as the email already in use (by me). If I buy direct via coinify, can I add it to my Blockchain wallet? Neoburner
I tried Coinify but had so many issues with the auth I gave up, blockchain worked off the bat, but I did have the bank block them until I got the text through to auth it!

chizh
Bought a token £25 worth at lunchtime on my debit card thru' BC and Coinify. Appears to have accepted as it's showing in my wallet as received 2 hrs ago - so fairly instant. Did say I'd have to wait up to 24hrs for confirmation. No emails welcoming me to Coinify or any email confirming the purchase. There's always the Fidor / Kraken route. Wasn't that bad to sign up but still had to jump thru' hoops. There's a thread on Modshack on how to Quote Quick summary of the process:1) Sign up at Kraken.com and get verified (1-2 days)2) Sign up for a Fidor bank account (10 minutes)3) Bank Transfer GBP to your Fidor account (5 minutes)4) Transfer EUR from Fidor to Kraken via SEPA (1 day)5) Spend your EUR on Bitcoin! And your bitcoin on Altcoin I won't post the full text as not my work. Credit to djs.
Snuffs99
Finally got sorted through blockchain and coinify...well i say sorted, i've been auth'ed by conify now so i can do bank transfers and i've done a bank transfer through my bank which can take 2-3 days to show on my blockchain account....so its a waiting game now to see if tis all gone through etc. Can't see any probs provided i've done it all right. Like Fon i'm still unable to use debit card etc though...With Lloyds.
Fon
Snuffs, dont take this as advice as I dont trade, but looking at the drop in price today, Id personally wait and see how it goes. If anything iv read, (iv read a lot!) it should drop to around 3.5K USD shortly, before rising again. Fon
Snuffs99
Yeah thanks for the tip but its too late mate, i've already done the transfer....i could cancel it but after all this hassle i just want it to go through tbh. I only went for £50 worth rather than £200 like i wanted, plus with the £9.50 transfer fee from the bank i was always paying through the nose. I'm going to let this go through and in the mean time get into matched betting, any profit i make from that i'll then add to my bitcoin fund and buy in bulk once my account is up and running so to speak. Again thanks for the tip mate and i was expecting it to go down so will buy more when it does. Luckily this time round its not really cost me much as my mum unexpectedly gave me £50 today for helping sell that telescope stuff on ebay.... so one could argue its only cost me £9.50 for £50 worth of coins....least thats how i'm arguing the case, lol.
