Scorpion
My mate has dug out her old laptop but she can't remember her windows password . I'm dubious about some of the torrents I've found . Any recommendations?
Minty
Have a look at this: http://m.wikihow.com/Reset-a-Windows-XP-or-Vista-Password
daz2905
I remember doing one on vista. I put the application on a usb stick and booted it from bios, can't for the life of me remember the name. I'll check later if it's on my pc but suspect it may be on my old pc because it was some time ago.

offbetz9c
NT Password is too complicated for beginners. Ophcrack/Kon-boot/UUkeys are good alternatives to NT Password for vista password recovery.
Snuffs99
Any other suggestion to NT Password? it is too complicated. thanks Really?, Download one fo the following CD use http://pogostick.net/~pnh/ntpasswd/cd140201.zip USB use http://pogostick.net/~pnh/ntpasswd/usb140201.zip Extract and burn the .ISO to CD OR place the files on a USB drive depending on your chosen media... CD Should be good to go once burnt. For USB you'll have to make it bootable. How to make a bootable USB drive Once you've copied all the files that are extracted from the usbXXXXXX.zip onto a usb drive, directly on the drive, not inside any directory/folder. It is OK if there are other files on the USB drive from before, they will not be removed. Install bootloader on the USB drive, to do this run a command prompt in windows ( "run as administrator" if possible) in the command line type x:syslinux.exe -ma x: (Replace x: with the drive letter of the USB drive (DO NOT USE C:)) If it seems like nothing happened, it is usually done. However, a file named ldlinux.sys may appear on the USB drive, that is normal. It should now in theory be bootable. Works for me mate for all windows, even 10.
