Minty
Well I learnt to fix mine, this is quiet easy, as on the older models you had to remove the screen to fix the home button. Just put the screws on a template if you can get one? Or take a picture and print it. You should be ok[emoji6]
Zeftron
As I understand it, it isn't just as simple as replacing the home button with an Apple branded one. You have to re-pair the button with the logic board - a step that they'll be able to do at the official repair centre, but not something they've ever shouted about doing up to now. They'll have learned their lesson with the block on the lightning cables that took the chinese oem guys seconds to bypass.
StonerUK
Correct. If you install a home button yourself you will only be able to use the standard home button features, not the touch id features. You'll have to go down the authorised route and spend a fortune. Zeftron
Is this definitely the error 53 update that's been fixed it is it the change the date to 1970 fault that they've sent the update for? Both have been pretty high profile. Edit > Yes, definitely Error 53! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-35611756
