ktv303
Paris St-Germain full-back Serge Aurier was stopped from entering the United Kingdom and will miss Wednesday's Champions League match against Arsenal. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38069036 FIFA should have forced them to play in a neutral country then. Snuffs99
Tbh i think its a bit rich of the home office to cite "criminal record" for refusing a footballer entry when they can't stop illegals or deport known criminals who murder and rape etc...all very well following rules if they are applied to everyone equally, which we all know they are not. He should have just come over illegally and bought a cat, he could have stayed as long as he wanted then...may have even got a council house out of it etc.
BIGIFA
Don't be ridiculous why should a home team lose there advantage because a player from the away team fucked up lol (Although they squandered it anyway lol)
ktv303
Double standards as per usual tbh How many British footballers have criminal records that are allowed to roam freely. Fifa rules that if he's eligible to play then he should be allowed to play. If you don't like the rules then don't join the comp. I know it's nothing to do with arsenal or the FA but the FA should make it clear to the home office that if they enter a comp they'll have to follow the rules. Looks to me like it's just some desk jockey throwing his weight about and it could lead to all sorts of grief in the future. sent from my phone
BIGIFA
Yup that seems reasonable and the WBA can make customs and Excise policies and the BDO can tell the NHS who to treat lol FFS its football, a game, entertainment and most importantly big business. no one is happy that big business can tell HMRC what to do so why should we want them to tell other branches what to do ?? ktv303
No one's telling anyone to do anything mate. Making it clear that you'll not be able to enter a competition if some else prevents you from following the rules isn't being unreasonable, it's getting confirmation that you can take part within the rules. And why is it an issue all of a sudden? is he's the first foreign footballer to break the law? I doubt it. sent from my phone
