daz2905
I've got an old laptop at work and decided to upgrade to kodi jarvis and whenever i try to open it i get an error that says" exception caught on the main loop, exiting". The details of the error are : Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: Kodi.exe Application Version: 16.0.0.0 Application Timestamp: 56c88b73 Fault Module Name: ntdll.dll Fault Module Version: 6.1.7601.18205 Fault Module Timestamp: 51db96c5 Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 0003224d OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48 Locale ID: 1033 I tried to upgrade the graphics driver with amd autodetect utility but it just says unable to find a driver. I also upgraded directx but still the same. Reinstalled isenguard and that is just fine. Seems to be a kodi problem with a grapics driver but looks like i'll be in the market for another laptop because my only other spare has a crackle on the audio and is annoying when connected to the auxiliary channel of my stereo. After googling it seems others have this problem too. Does anyone have any ideas before i bin this laptop?
Snuffs99
Ntdll.dll is usually a graphics driver issue afaik so your on the right lines.....however if isengard is working then why not stick with that, i'm still on 14.2 on some of my VM's and that still works well. daz2905
I'm running the beast on this pc and the latest version needs jarvis. I'll drop back down to 15.2 and see if they fix the issue in the next update.
Snuffs99
Ahh fair play, what windows is on the laptop mate?
daz2905
Windows 7 but the laptop must be about 8 years old. Need a new one anyway, will probably be looking on ebay and see what i can pick up. I only use second hand for work because it's dusty environment and normally they don't last long. This one has been like an old reliable friend to me though.
Snuffs99
One of those "have to be there" times in order to try a million different things tbh. I assume device manager shows everything as installed and working correctly.
