Jester
Scanners are not cheap. In fact, they are bloody expensive so when i read a few articles about the results from a £15 dvb-t dongle i had to investigate. Seemingly using one of these cheapy dongles, some free software and an antenna, you can set up a very effective station covering from 25mhz up to 1800mhz. I have bought one of these do-dahs of ebay and am just waiting on it arriving. Once i get it installed and running i will post back with a few pics and the all important results.

Jester
I got mine this morning so now i just need to get the discone up somewhere. I found it lurking in the back of our garage so atm i have the discone from back in the 90's, coax from about then too and the dongle which cost me a tenner. It will be interesting to see the results.

Rigout
I'd heard that Tetra was too expensive so they were using the mobile phones, not sure how true this is and if the phones can be listed to.
