Not sure how many of you lot are into this, but if you haven't looked it's probably time you did.

Bitcoin is forecast to hit $4000, and there was something on USA TV (Fox news) yesterday saying that it's going to reach $1m per coin in the next few years...

http://www.altcointoday.com/fox-news-forecasts-bitcoin-price-could-reach-1-million/

I've been into bitcoin for a while now, but recently started actively trading crypto's on poloniex. Some huge gains to be made.

Check out some of the % gains over the last 90 days on things like digibyte, sia coin, ethereum, ripple, etc ...

That list says it all, as with anything the moment anything starts making money then every man and his dog are at it and flooding the market with 100's of different coins (525 different coins on that list ffs) and making it almost impossible for anyone else....have you seen the rooms some have literally filled with asic miners mining all day every day? the average joe bloggs has no chance.

I had 8 complete BTC about 10 years ago in a wallet but scrapped it off as it wasn't worth anything, i think they were worth about £5 each or sommat like that so when i lost the wallet i wasn't that bothered, even more so as i'd ruined 2 gfx cards mining them.....needless to say i'm spitting now. lol

Way North korea is going we will all be nuked and bitcoin will be dead.....thats what i'm going with, makes me feel better about throwing 16K down the drain. :D

How much does it cost to mine 1 BTC now and is it worth joining a silent pool etc?

Wouldnt mine BTC myself some alt coins are much more profitable.

Started mining z-cash end of last year (november 1st) Zcash was worth about $50 per coin at then.

Cost of mining rig £1800.

Z-cash mined to date 27.28630146 ZEC

Z-cash price (today) $288.70 (down a bit from its ATH couple weeks of $400 / coin)

Total Zcash (27.2*$288) = $7856 (£6080.54)

Electricity cost (800w/h) I think about £60/month (£540 over 9 month).

Total cost of rig + electricity £2340

So about £3740 profit if i sold today (todays price). Then I could also sell the rig too which stands nothing at this point.

How much investment you put into it so far? Looking at it myself

Got some inheritance, sold my mums house etc, a lot of it is in crypto's.

Then got into trading crypto's, couple months back. Made INSANE profits.

Perhaps I just got lucky?

This was one of my best trades over 1 day!

Digibyte(DGB)

COIN   TRADE         PRICE          AMOUNT              DATE

DGB    BUY        0.00000155         9.89611650 BTC     2017-05-16

DGB    SELL       0.00000301        18.71170065 BTC     2017-05-17

Profit/Loss: +8.81558415 BTC

Now the crazy thing is that if I'd have held onto the Digibyte for a couple of more weeks and not sold, it actually went over 0.00002000

Which was a 12x increase on what I'd paid so I would have made over 100 btc if I'd just held on a bit...

Markets have gone down quite a bit today, so you could pick up some cheap stuff.

XVG (Verge) has been mentioned a bit, its quite a cheap coin at .00000155 or so currently.

Everything's a gamble tho, might want to look at what the top 10 coins are.

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/

Although there can be more to be made with the lower coins that are worth a lot less as you get more of them, and if they go up a few cents, you make $$$

The way I look at it is that to double your money on bitcoin it has to go up 2x its value, so if its $2500 it has to go up ANOTHER $2500.

If you buy a ton a coin at like $0.003 (third of a cent) each, and it goes to $0.01 (1 cent which is 3x profit) or $0.10 cents (30x profit)... What do you think is more likely?

Also because the price is per fraction of bitcoin, if bitcoin rises as well, your alts are worth more $ too, so you are actually gaining on two levels :)

Sorry I don't have an actual guide, but here's a few pointers.

Buy some bitcoin (blockchain.info, localbitcoins, coinbase, are a couple of sites which you can do this you can also google yourself).

Sign up to poloniex (largest) or bittrex, or any other exchange that deals in the coins you are thinking about buying.

Open another twitter account, add all of the major coins + others you want to follow. I've got a list I can post to get you started. Cryptoyoda1338 and WolfOfPoloniex are a couple of others that I follow. Reason for this is below.

Prices usually rise on rumor or news that happening in the future, and price usually drops when the news actually happens. So for example in the case of digibyte, some minecraft server / citibank thing was announced to go live on the 19th or 20th last month. Price rose until the 20th then it dropped like a brick.

Research coins yourself, see if you think they have good use potential in the future, also check sites like cointelegraph, altcointoday, etc so see whats happening in industry.

went with BC, felt the most pro and cleanest, already bought and piped into an exchange to play with!

Cool,

My coinlist keeps changing.

Currently have

BCN  Bytecoin

DGB  Digibyte

ETC   Ethereum Classic

GAME  GameCredits

LBC  LBRY Credits

LTC Litecoin

SC  Siacoin

STEEM  STEEM

STR  Stellar

SYS  Syscoin

XEM  NEM

XRP  ripple

ZEC  zcash

DSH  Dash

ETH  Ethereum

and some "others" I picked up

RDD  Reddcoin

XVG  Verge

CHC  Chaincoin

TX   TransferCoin

POSW PoSWallet

I mainly use poloniex but here are some other exchanges to note with cheap / shitcoins (some may be worth something or get pumped if you get in / out at the right time).

bittrex.com cryptopia.co.nz and yobit.net

Something recently being talked about more are "Masternode" coins, where you can set up a masternode on your PC if you have so many of a certain coin, and you get paid a % for processing transactions etc. CHC was one mentioned a lot which also you can set it up as a masternode.

It was up 150% yesterday (and overall about 65x increase over the last couple weeks), but its dropped a fair bit today so could have been a pump and dump.

Show me a bank where you get 65x return over a few weeks! or 150% return in a day!

Couple of the people I follow on twitter is Crypto_Twitt_r and WolfOfPoloniex

Nice one, appreciate the share. I'm quite impressed with polos charts and having at least the macd and fibs native on the chart, tbh it's the only TA indis I follow, have done for years with FX dabbles!

I Don't really know  a lot about TA myself, so perhaps you can share some tips :)

I did find this (other patters further down too), which I found useful, other may find it useful too.

For TA training or tips it's all about YouTube, watching traders (hobby traders specifically) going over there past charts and performance... these guys are usually a good starting point: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnqZ2hx679DqRi6khRUNw2g

As for my trading plan, I keep it KISS, too many indicators can overwhelm the senses and emotions, and I usually stick to 4h and 1d charts as I like to day trade... doesn't sound much but already pulled in a couple quid today messing with ETH/BTC to see what the patterns do, and it's just like FX, albeit a little more fluid and the support/resistance lines and closer for the three bounces, but still all the same!

I try to avoid fundamental, mainly because the makers and social media can make it very difficult to jump in, and usually my SL gets hit because I wimp out!

It's because of the fork that's coming up, the way the TX flow is going to go... people are just bailing like normal markets do to change, not a time to get in at the moment but also a good time to buy some of the majors like ETH and ETC perhaps?

Can see it rising again... too many people use it for it to fizzle out now!
