hoponbaby
Why don't they put more ram or giga lan on things like these - got to have a performance boost for very little additional cost.
daz2905
Well at £35 for a firestick or £40 for this it has to be a bargain. Yeah 2gb of ram would have been nicer but for the price it's well worth it for anyone on a budget.

goldringers
It it better than the fire tv 4K HD ?
daz2905
The firestick is just a kodi and amazon content player. At least with this you get android to run iptv and other apps, it will be easier to import files and you get the h.265 codec. Not sure if the player is any good, maybe look for reviews but at least it's a brand that's known and there'll be topics open in loads of forums if you get stuck with anything. I'd take it over the firestick anyday, if only because you can do more with it than the firestick. But look at this Here. Even cheaper from amazon and the reviews seem ok. Only £31.29 or £41.28 with the Keyboard remote delivered. Plus if it's crap you can send it back for free. Sorry slightly different, the other one same as op is £43 but i think i'll get one from amazon instead. Good box for the bedroom and the firestick annoys me to use when i'm tired. NoOne
Just soo tempting...Ive had it with the firestick...I was waiting for a fire tv deal.....is this kit on a similar level to the fire tv?
daz2905
Just soo tempting...Ive had it with the firestick...I was waiting for a fire tv deal.....is this kit on a similar level to the fire tv? This should be better. Firetv is just firestick with h.265 and 4k tv. Lets be honest, when are we going to use 4k tv unless you want to pay? H265 is all you need for now and android boxes are way better than firesticks or firetv. They give you more options for to run other apps besides just kodi and there's no sideloading. It's a damn sight easier to just put wallys build or any kind of apk on a usb stick and load from there. I only use firestick because i use it for the bedroom tv and there is no shelf to put a box, they do a job but my other boxes are way better. I do like the air controllers too, much easier to navigate kodi and correct a mistake when you have a cursor on the screen, all 3 of my boxes have this and with the extra sumvision controller you have it too. techmob
What a about the 2gb of ram? Obviously not a concern for you guys. I'm tempted, my fire stick runs slow and is somewhat annoying
daz2905
I have 2 amiko a3's that only have 1gb of ram. They run fine and aren't noticeably slow. Bought more for because they are android sat receivers but run kodi fine. Buy a 2gb box if price is not an issue but these seem good value and the reviews seem good too. I would buy from amazon and at least you can use it for 4 weeks and send it back if you don't like it. I was all ready to buy one but am off to the gadget show live in a few weeks and want to see what's there first, i don't really need one but thought i could get the bluetooth one and just jam it behind the bedroom tv because they're pretty small.
