chizh
Well Manchester / Salford council know the perfect way. Lets put a 6 foot wide cylce lane down both sides of the carriageway. Oh. And then lets nail some racoons to the floor and install some bollards that serve absolutely no purpose. Streetview before and dashcam crop after shots
Sh4ckles
Not sure what your moaning about as they have just taken the space from the centre of the road to the cycle lane lol.
chizh
Nah. Was 1.5 to 2 lanes of moving traffic each way up to a month or so ago with possibility to get around anyone who might be turning right of this road. Now down to 1 lane each way. These protected cycle lanes are cropping up all over the place locally. Took me 75 minutes on Tuesday night to do what I normally do in 15. Every which way I turned to get from the motorway was rammed. An exceptionally bad night I admit but this restrictive practice does not aid traffic flow at all IMO. Sh4ckles
I understand you point, it don't look that bad of a difference in the pictures but I guess as you say in peak times it makes a huge amount. You might have to use a bike lol.
chizh
LOL. I'll be the first to use the lanes then.
Snuffs99
This is because we voted for no congestion charge mate, same with the East Lancs ffs, taken 1 lane away and made it into a bus lane ffs with a park and ride in the most stupid place under the motorway fly over, all bollox..........Don't want to pay a congestion charge then we will make it congested is their thinking IMHO. georgedawes
Its the same with the A57 up near the AJ Bell Stadium at Barton Moss. Whats all that about with the contraflow changing dependant on whether there is a game on or not!! That part of the road is battered at peak time, regardless of a match on or not with the M60 smart motorway :@
converter
sounds about right for Manchester council
