techmob
Hi mate Good to see you. I recall you helping me many years back with advice on my dads diagnosis. Anyway, my son who is 6 seems to be getting stomach cramps, where his stomach goes bloated and hard. He says it hurts He often needs to go,to the toilet and sometimes has yellow mucus which I can only assume is from emptying so much. He comes out with a rash in his hands but not sure if that's because he is washing his hands after he goes. He has had this for about 10 days now, he has had a cough for longer, pre Xmas Took him to the docs and was advised viral and if doesn't clear up in the next two days. Which is tomorrow, to go back. He did basic checks on him for his appendix and was told it wasn't that. Anyway, not sure about taking him as often it is virus but just can't be to careful I suppose. Hopefully it will pass. Anyway don't expect you to have the answers, good to see you here lol
singer61
lo techmob, nice to see and hear from you again. ok first things first, abdominal crams can be a spasmodic reaction to food, constipation and much more , how is his diet , does he take plenty fluids, is it worse in mornin when he wakes up, does the pain cramps go away when he has been to toilet. he shouldnt be passing mucous m8, wether it be white or yellow , have you viewed his faeces, tell him not to flush next time he has pain and goes to the toilet , does he have any allergies , i.e to cream milk dairy produce, you do get IRRITABLE BOWEL SYNDROME in young children but i would see what his diet is like , does he have fibre in his diet and plenty fluids , not pop or so , i mean diluted juices weetabix , not choccy pops or so if you go back to gp i would suggest an allergen test , a diet diary for a month and see if anythin starts the cramps and mucus
techmob
Hi Singer Cheers for that. I will speak with him and the mrs about what you have said once I digest it and respond We are looking to get him back in to the docs tomorrow. Generally though he doesn't have pop Although he does drink fruit shoots He has snacks stuff but not to much, doesn't over indulge , has the odd packet of crisps He doesn't have any allergies My mum mentioned he might be constipated as he was left with her and he went 6 times to the toilet, and we were gone a couple of hours. She said it was like rabbit poo so might not be able to bring allot up. He has a rash In between his fingers He said that when he goes to the toilet when he has stomach ache, it sometimes stops it hurting. Cheers
singer61
sounds like he is constipated m8 , i always tell my patients to have minimal 2 to 3 litres water a day and that prevents rabbit like stools, fruit shoots are if you pardon the pun shit , he would be better with grapes or an orange , not to much bananas for a child as they are high in pottasium and isnt good for the heart , obviously at his age he is always onthe go , so it isnt lack of exercise, i suggest noting down when it hurts , when the pain subsides . im sure it isnt anythin to worry about . but if it continues , back to the gp and even maybe even ask him for a blood tests for a bug called helicobacter, which can cause cramping and abdo discomfort on the young as well as old, it isnt anythin to worry about and can be dealt with by antibiotics. hope info has helped you a lil m8

mobisat
Also the water out the tap (up here anyways) has to pass stringent testing compared to bottled.
Vixen
Oh this is going to be great I can have my own personal doctor without leaving the house. Ok I was diagnosed a few years ago with diverticulitis, most of the time I am fine but then suddenly out of nowhere I am in agony. Is it going to be like this for the rest of my life. What can I do to improve it and be pain free ?
singer61
hi vixen , well you have diverticular disease which is commonly known as wear and tear of the bowel, that is u have high pressure within the bowel at times which can cause little pockets in the bowel wall, now normally it is nothin to worry about , i would guess at times u get constipation then days of diarrhoea , that is because the diverticula get inflamed and can be caused because you maybe straining when goin to toilet , or sittin for ages whilst trying to do the toilet. plenty of fluid helps this and if you are on cocodamol or anythin similar , i suggest you see gp and get that rectified. unfortunately once you have diverticular disease you got it , it wont go away but you can help it ..
