Crashuk
Anybody else been involved in a protective payment from the National Insurance fund after the company has been declared insolvent? I once got a redundancy payment from them but no wages owed, holiday or notice payment. I had to get an employment tribunal liability order to be able to claim it. suke
Myself along with approx. 400 people were made redundant with the firm going into liquidation. Redundancy and 4 weeks money owed was paid out of the National Insurance fund. Union took it to a Tribunal who awarded us 90 days as a protective award. However because the firm was in liquidation and the award paid out of N.I we only got 8 weeks and then to top it off, since the N.I had already paid us 4 weeks money owed, this was deducted from the 8 weeks. So out of the 12 weeks(90 days) we ended up with 4 weeks. Pretty crap result really.
