Fon
Went on a train! I had to go into london, so got the tube. What a fooking horrible, dirty, noisey, hot bastard experience that was! Hope its another 10 years before I have to again! Fook knows how people deal with it on a daily basis for work. (and pay a small fortune for the experience!) daz2905
My other half has to go there often for work, she point blank refuses to get on the tube and just claims the taxi fares back on expenses. Last time we went together it cost me a small fortune in cab fares. Generally speaking i hate inner cities, there like ghettos and i prefer my life in suburbs. With the exception of Edinburgh i've not been to a big city in the UK that i liked in the last 20 years. Snuffs99
Used to live in London and found that many of the tube stops are actually just as quick to walk too and from, if you know your way around of course. The last time i went was a few years back and i really don't miss it at all......Like Fon if its at least another 10 years (if ever) before i'm there again i'll be happy. I live in Manchester now and that too is a shit hole but after living in London i find Manchester City center to be pathetic in size so its manageable and easy to get around what with trams etc....Is still a shit hole though same as most like daz says. tuff_enuff_toft
Fon, funnily enough I was in London the other day, although I was mostly on overground trains. The first one we got was off-peak and was still jam packed and smelled horrible, however on the second line we used one with seats along the sides only and were painted yellow and had several carriages without internal doors, so you could see it bending as it went along. They were airy, comfortable and way better.
